Hi,

I installed Oracle Applications successfully on my PC with Windows XP OS.

I used expess installation for the VIS database.

After installation all Post Install checks passed except for "JSP is not responding"

:

checking URL = http://kanaan.mydomain:8003/OA_HTML/jsp/fnd/fndhelp.jsp?dbc=E:\oracle\visappl\fnd\11.5.0\secure\VIS_kanaan\vis.dbc

JSP is not responding, waiting 15 seconds and retesting.

...

Anyhow if I log to http://kanaan.mydomain:8003 I am being directed to a page showing :

"Oracle Applications Rapid Install Portal"

Kindly advise how to check what is wrong with JSP and how to fix.

Thanks in advance

AK

    • Can you login to the application from the portal page? If so, you can ignore the 'JSP is not responding' message.

    • Thank you for you reply,

No, I cannot log from there because when I click on the link, IE Cannot find the page as If the server is down.

Should I modify any PATH or CLASSPATH in the environment variables ?

      Thanks...

    • Do a ping kanaan.mydomain, or whatever your domain is, and make sure you get an ip address back. Then type ipconfig to ensure the ip address of your PC is the same as the address returned from ping. If not, edit c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts to reflect your ip address reported by ipconfig in the format.

      192.168.1.100 kanaan.mydomain kanaan

Look up your s_login_page value in %APPL_TOP%\admin\sid_host.xml file to ensure it is your fully qualified host.domain:port/oa_servlets/AppsLogin url.

You might also need to verify your Full Computer Name is kanaan.mydomain in Contol Panel->System->Computer Name. If not, add a primary DNS suffix after clicking on Change then More.

    • Hi,

      Thank you for your reply.

I checked all the mentioned points and they are handled properly.

Shall I modify any Path or classpath?

Does the default windows firewall affect the Apache server?

Any other suggestion to check ?

      Thanks in advance

    • The Windows firewall will definately block user not on your PC from access Apache and forms. You will need to open those ports in the Firewall advanced config section.

Can we assume your preinstall checks all came out OK?

      #5; Sat, 23 Feb 2008 16:29:00 GMT
    • Hi,

Yes, all pre-install checks passes successfully

I disabled the firewall to test, then I stopped the service of oracle apps apache from the "Services" then restarted it again, sill the problem is there.

Anyhow I checked error log file under apache directories, and I found a long list of errors, with the last few lines as follows where I cannot find the files specified in the pathes below, specially the directory "e:/oracle/visora/8.0.6/tools/web60/cgi/f60cgi" is not there at all ! (Starting from 8.0.6...)

[Tue Feb 27 22:05:06 2007] [error] [client 192.168.254.5] client denied by server configuration: e:/oracle/viscomn/portal/vis_kanaan/oprocmgr-service

    • shutdown everything except the database and listener.

Go to your %APPL_TOP% and either create a shotcut for envshell.cmd to your desktop, or just double lick on envshell.cmd.

      cd %OAD_TOP%\admin\scripts\%APPL_CONFIG%

      run adautocfg.cmd

Let us know if it completes successfully. Then either review the listed autoconfig logs for errors or just retest your login issue.

Have you rebooted the machine since you installed 11i?

      #7; Sat, 23 Feb 2008 16:31:00 GMT
    • You should have rebooted the box after the installation is done. However, you can still get this to work fine if you run AutoConfig with no errors.

    • Thank you for you replies

The problem I faced was that the installation was cut (power down) after the installer finished the "Post intallation check" and I was informed that its ok as no more steps are required after the wizard perfoms the checks.

Also I restarted the PC without even closing the services using command or using "Services" screen, could this be a problem cause ?

I ran the auto config tool, and in the log file I could locate the following error & still I cannot access the page:

    • The above is not an error. What error do you get when you try to access the application?

Were you able to start all services successfully? Apache is up and running?

From the command prompt, type the following:

ps -ef | grep -i apache

Check Apache log file for any errors.

    • Hi,

All services are starting properly with no errors

      when opening the page "http://kanaan.mydomain:8003/oa_servlets/AppsLogin"

      , i recieve the error :

      --

      The webpage cannot be found

      HTTP 404

      Most likely causes:

There might be a typing error in the address.

If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date.

      What you can try:

      Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

Go to kanaan.mydomain:8003 and look for the information you want.

    • Can you accee the same URL but using the IP instead of the hostname.domain?

      i.e.

      http://IP Address:8003/oa_servlets/AppsLogin

      #12; Sat, 23 Feb 2008 16:36:00 GMT
    • No, same problem and same error message
      #13; Sat, 23 Feb 2008 16:37:00 GMT
    • A hint: Before Installing the Oracle Apps i read that there should be no JVM, or any other oracle products intalled, so I de-installed ORacle forms & Dabase 10g , then I deleted the registry entries under "Services" and "ORacle" entries.

Could this be the problem ?
